Located in the town centre of Lerwick, the Islands' capital, Fort Charlotte Self Catering is one of the finest accommodation providers in the Islands. Concentrating on fresh, clean & modern accommodation, we are always looking for new opportunities to offer our guests.

Built in 1886 the traditional stone built building is located on Lerwick's main shopping street.

Being extensively renovated to a very high standard in 2013, the upper floor accommodation provides 3 spacious bedrooms; 2 double (one with shower room) & one twin bedroom, sleeping up to 6 people. In addition, there is a fully fitted kitchen and bathroom having all been tastefully and sympathetically refurbished.

In 2017, we have undertook another renovation in our lower apartment, which is located on the ground floor, accessed from the garden. This accommodation provides another almost identical self contained apartment with 3 double bedrooms, bathroom and large kitchen/diner/living room. This makes us an ideal place to stay for large groups wishing to be in one area, and accommodating up to 12 guests at a time.

We have tried, wherever possible, to retain the original features of this building. New double glazed conservation windows, solid oak floors, deep skirting boards in keeping with the character & period of the building,whilst giving our guests the benefits of all the usual mod-cons.

We stock complimentary locally produced toiletries supplied by the Shetland Soap Company for our guests to use.

In 2019, we have achieved the Scottish Tourist Board Four Star rating for Self Catering premises. We have worked hard to gain this and strive to maintain this level of accommodation for our guests.
